Stories from March/April

April 2026

Hi! I hope are all keeping well! 💐

What’s been going on:

I’ve set up my garden beds and planted some seeds! We’ll have fresh lettuce and herbs in no time! There are carrots too, and next month I will sow fennel – Ozzie used to love the fennel leaves, it was one of his favourites… I miss my sweet boy so much.😔❤️

Did you know there’s a Piggy Fest happening this year? It’s a festival to celebrate guinea pigs! So cool! It’s organised by HayPigs and it’s happening in July – the tickets are on sale now. I’m excited to go and check it out!

My Sassy Ladies’ Corner:

Lumi recovered so well from her ovarian surgery! Her hair is pretty much fully grown back and she’s so much happier and calmer! Lumi’s fur is so much fluffier and thicker all over now. I completely forgot that high estrogen causes hair thinning. She’s such a darling and loves getting our attention and love.🥰

At the time of writing this, Juniper is preparing for her surgery in a wheek time. She’s having the exact same surgery as Lumi (spaying). But unlike Lumi’s cysts, Juniper’s are not causing any clearly visible issues. However, her cysts are quite large and they might be pressing on her organs.
She’s very happy and loves food and playing – part of me wasn’t sure if to go ahead with the surgery now or wait until we have to, and decided that it’s better to do it whilst it’s not an emergency. I just hope that all goes well, I cannot handle her loss. Juni is my connection to Ozzie and I’ve bonded with her so much.❤️
I know she’ll be in good hands; I trust the vet completely. It’s the unknown underling issues that I worry about.

Not to end this section on a negative note: The ladies are so good at sharing the biscuit bowl and snack (they love the Patisseries selection from PiggieParcels!) Juniper really likes Lumi, she grooms her often and stays near her. But she also reminds her who’s the boss every now and then 😅.

New creations:

I’ve been working on a custom sculpture of a wonderful Montana! She passed away recently and I’m so honoured to be making her memorial sculpture.🤍
I’ve shared a few glimpses of the sculpture on my social media.

I will be starting work on Halloween Piggies. My goal is to have one complete sculpture by the end of April so it’s ready to photograph and include in the advert in Guinea Pig Magazine.

And I have to start thinking about winter design! 😱

Thanks so much for stopping by! Please keep your fingers crossed that all goes well with my sweet Juniper ❤️ I’ll give updates on my socials.

Have a wonderful rest of the month!💐

Aleks
